Listing your bloodstock for sale on gavelhouse.com is easy. If you’d like to complete the listing in one go, make sure you have your photos and bank account details for the proceeds to be paid into ready to enter into the system. If not, you can certainly start the process and at any stage just click on ‘Save Progress’ and you can come back and find the incomplete listing under the ‘Sell’ tab.
Step One – register on gavelhouse.com
The first step is to register on the site and verify your email address by clicking on the ‘Verify’ button in the verification email you’re sent after you submit your registration.
Step Two – complete your profile
Once your email address is verified, you can then go to the site and click on the ‘Login’ link in the top right corner of any gavelhouse.com page. The final step before placing a bid is to complete your profile so that we have all of your details should your bid be successful.
To do this, once logged in click on your username in the top right corner and then click on ‘Settings’. Once in ‘Settings’ tick the ‘Are you planning to Buy or Sell a horse?’ box and fill out the form before clicking the ‘Update’ button at the bottom of the page.
Step Three – list your bloodstock for sale
Click on the ‘Sell’ tab in the menu bar and click on the ‘Create a Listing’ button. This will take you to page one of the listing process.
Here choose the category your listing fits into and type in the horse’s name or if unnamed, it’s breeding, and year of birth so that our system can find the horse in Arion’s database and pull the pedigree and race record if applicable.
Then progress onto step two where you can double check the system has pulled the correct horse through and also add in the location of the horse and also disclose if the horse has been seen to wind-suck or not.
Step three is where you add in if the horse is eligible for any bonus schemes. At step four, enter a description about your horse, choose the type of listing you’d like, tick the Race Record box if the listing needs a race record, and add video links and photos.
The final page to complete in the listing process is bank acount for the proceeds to be paid into, if the horse is to be sold with GST, an ABN or GST number, contact details for the person best to handle phone enquiries about the horse.
