Road to Rock colt the highlight of NZ November auction

road-to-rock-lissonLocal and international buyers were active in the most recent gavelhouse.com New Zealand auction which wrapped up on 28 November.

With a bumper offering of 67 Lots, including 37 ready to run horses, the site attracted plenty of traffic and new registrations over the week with spirited bidding on select few ready to run lots that sees them now destined for race tracks in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

The top price fetched was for Wellfield Lodge’s impressive son of Road to Rock (pictured) at Lot 30 with a Singapore-based buyer bidding to $50,000 to add the colt to his string.

Buyers from Malaysia and South Africa were also active, purchasing racing and breeding stock.

Since gavelhouse.com’s relaunch in New Zealand as an auction site in April 2016, 228 horses have traded hands for total receipts of over $1.7 million. The site is now a valuable trading tool for the industry outside the traditional auction cycle with a long list of New Zealand’s most esteemed racing stables and studs now regular users.

With plenty of opportunities available in the form of passed in Lots, gavelhouse.com Sales and Marketing Manager Haylie Martin is on hand to assist with enquiry on these Lots and can be contacted via haylie@gavelhouse.com or +6422 6378127
