The impressive momentum gavelhouse.com New Zealand’s online thoroughbred auctions has built continued with its most recent sale concluding last night resulting in $168,000 worth of bloodstock traded for a clearance rate of 82%.
Of the 50-strong catalogue, 41 Lots were purchased with results reflecting good demand for horses at all ends of the spectrum.
Moyrabella (pictured), a lightly raced maiden Makfi filly attracted plenty of interest from the outset with bidders from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore all keen to add her to their racing teams. Offered unreserved, she was eventually knocked down for $26,000 to a local buyer who will continue to race her in New Zealand.
As have many of New Zealand’s leading farms and stables, Cambridge-based Windsor Park Stud have added gavelhouse.com to their mix of channels for moving stock on, successfully identifying five entries well-suited to the online platform. Selling 100% of their entries, their highlight was an attractive Per Incanto colt who met his reserve at $8,000 and attracted further bidding up to $11,500.
Of the breeding stock Danness (Danske) fetched the highest price in the broodmare section. The dam of a recent stakes performer in Rocknrolla fetched $8,000 and is tested in foal with a Jimmy Choux colt while for the second auction in a row a stallion share in The Oak Stud’s proven sire Darci Brahma sold, this time for $41,000.
