gavelhouse.com graduate Stormy Ray got the job done nicely yesterday, winning the NZB Pearl Series Insurance Race over 1300m at Otaki.
The Captain Rio mare sold for an affordable price tag of $600 in the January gavelhouse.com auction on account of Grant Nicholson who sold her as a winning mare with both racing and breeding potential to now part owner and trainer Huia Bishop.
At just her third start under new ownership she secured $7,500 in prize money for her win yesterday to earn back over 10 times her purchase price.
“She is just getting better and better with the more training she has.
“She will have a few days off, and we’ll see how she comes back in to decide where to next for her” commented part owner Joanne Roylands who was also pleased with the result.
The current gavelhouse.com Australia catalogue is online now with bidding set to close Monday from 7pm AEST. Entries for the next NZ catalogue are due Monday by 7pm with the catalogue going online on the Tuesday and bidding set to close Monday 29 May from 7pm.
