Shocking well-represented in current NZ catalogue

A well-related daughter of Shocking is one of the highlights of the current New Zealand catalogue with bidding set to close from 7pm NZT on Monday.

Trained by Shaune Ritchie, Detonate (pictured) is a quality three year old who is a genuine sale to defray expenses. She ran an impressive second in her trial in March and is ready to continue her work with her new owners while also being eligible for the potentially lucrative Karaka Million series.

At Lot 11 she is a half-sister to last season’s stylish winner Princess Kereru and from a family with ample black-type with her dam a half to THUNDER LADY, winner of the Gr.2 VRC Wakeful Stakes and runner up in the Gr.1 VRC Oaks, while her third dam is FLEUR DE CHINE who is a Gr.2 winner and dam of Gr.1 Australian Oaks winner TULLY THUNDER and stakes winner SUFFICIENT.

Also by Melbourne Cup winner Shocking is Lot 16, the lightly tried mare Shock Rock. Offered unreserved she has had just three starts and is in full work. Located at Copper Belt Lodge she is out of the winning Fastnet Rock mare Fastnet Rockette. Her third dam, Gr.1 Western Australian Oaks winner TRUE DEVOTION, is also the dam of two stakes winners in CENTROFOLD and SMART KID.

Also featuring in the current catalogue is a stallion nomination to Rich Hill Stud’s Shocking. At Lot 25, SHOCKING stands in 2017 for a fee of $12,500 plus GST.

In total 26 Lots are on offer. You can browse the full catalogue here:
