New Zealand racing powerhouse Te Akau Racing are looking forward to testing out what they believe could be a handy addition to their staying ranks in gavelhouse.com purchase Richard of Yorke.
Arriving at the stables this week via New Zealand Bloodstock Airfreight from vendor Chris Waller’s Sydney stables, trainer Jamie Richards is thrilled with the new arrival “The horse has arrived at Te Akau Racing in beautiful order and we are setting him for the New Zealand Cup all going well.”
“We are always looking out for good value, interesting options for our owners and he certainly fitted that brief.”
Imported to Australia from the United Kingdom, the well-travelled son of Oasis Dream was a winner of two in his native England before joining Chris Waller’s stable.
From there he won another two races including one at Saturday metro-level over 2400m while also finishing a narrow second over 3200m at the same level.
The latest gavelhouse.com Australia auction is set to close from 7pm on Monday 16 July.
