All Too Hard three-year-old Springthorpe notched up his fourth win for McKay-based trainer Olivia Cairns at his home-track on Saturday.
Bought from Mick Price Racing via gavelhouse.com for $10,500, Springthorpe has since won $36,700 for connections with Saturday’s victory impressive when clearing out from his rivals to win the Class 3 Mojos Plate (1300m) with a length in hand.
“It was a bit nerve racking when I saw him out in front as that wasn’t really the plan but Nathan Day is a good judge and knew what he was doing,” commented trainer Olivia Cairns to Sam Hyland in a post-race interview.
“He’s a handy horse and gives his all under pressure.”
“We will sit down and talk about the plan for him next week.”
The latest gavelhouse.com Australia auction is set to close from 7pm AEST on Monday 16 July.
