LA Lots Feature in Auction

Having had positive experiences selling horses online already and with the postponement of the National Weanling and Broodmare Sale has seen Little Avondale Stud offer a selection of broodmares and unraced stock in the latest Gavelhouse auction which closes on Monday evening.

LA’s Sam William’s has been pleased with the market’s acceptance of on-line bloodstock.

“We sold three yearlings at Sydney Inglis Easter and we usually have a decent draft at the traditional May sale so we’re more than happy to run with the on-line sale.”

Ocean Park has had a break-through season and Tofane’s (Ocean Park-Green Beret by Galileo) Group 1 All Aged Stakes win will have made LOT 100 one of the most viewed horses in the 132 lot catalogue. By a Group 1 winning son of Galileo from the Group 3 winning sprinter Martini Red, Mar Tene, who was injured at her only race day start after winning a trial by five lengths, carries a positive service to the Cox Plate winner, making the foal in utero bred on a very similar cross to the Ballymore Stables trained star.

Little Avondale has bred and raced many quality fillies and mares and two recent examples, Oaks runner-up Can’t Keeper Down and Caulfield Cup second place getter Laebeel feature prominently in LA’s offering.

Can’t Keeper Down’s fourth foal, LOT 41, is an unraced Charm Spirit half sister to this season’s winner Keep It Savvy and five times Victorian winner Bob of The Head.

Laebeel’s unraced 3YO Atlante filly, who is LOT 42, is a half-sister to two Australian stakes winners, while Laebeel’s Pins daughter So Like Lae is the dam of LOT 29, a powerfully built yearling colt by popular Waikato Stud first season sire Tivaci. So Like Lae’s first three foals have sold for a combined $750k and the subject colt is another excellent physical.

LA’s Gavelhouse offering presents buyers with an excellent opportunity to upgrade their bloodstock investments.

The move to COVID alert level 3 this Monday night means that transport arrangements can be made for sold horses to transfer to their new owners starting from Tuesday morning.

Anyone requiring more details about any of the LA bloodstock in the auction are encouraged to phone Sam Williams on 0274 853 400.
