The first mares by Novara Park’s freshman sire King Of Comedy to be offered at public auction are currently being sold on gavelhouse.com.
Standing at Luigi Muollo’s Novara Park Stud, King Of Comedy served 91 mares and stood for $7,000 in the spring while his sire Kingman’s 2021 service fee equates to NZ$290,000.
“To have a King Of Comedy, who was at one point rated the best three-year-old in Europe and is by Kingman, is an outstanding opportunity for New Zealand,” Muollo said.
“We supported King Of Comedy with our best mares including Extra Explosive, the dam of Derby star Explosive Jack and by listing these three mares online, we are offering buyers an exciting opportunity to be the breeders of some of his first foals.”
King Of Comedy’s dam Stage Presence has proved to be an outstanding producer as the dam of three Group One performers. In June 2019 Timeform rated King of Comedy as the best three-year-old in Europe, describing him as “Bred in the purple and a most taking sort on looks.”
Bidding on the mares will close from 7pm (NZ) on Monday 7 March. View Novara Park’s three mares here.
